British-born Nicola Auf der Maur, came to Switzerland almost 11 years ago via a roundabout international route. She founded the relocation company Le Concierge Expatriate Services GmbH in 1999 and since then has successfully assisted dozens of families, individuals and companies to move into the Zug area.

How did Swiss Kits™ get started?

A year or so ago I met a lady who had been living in Switzerland for about 6 months and was feeling extremely disorientated, miserable and isolated. Her husband and children were out 12 hours a day, she hadn't made any friends or met her neighbours so didn't know anything about the local international network and didn't speak any German. She didn't have any resources at her fingertips to help her find her way around and wasn't getting anything positive out of her stay in Switzerland at all.

Meeting this lady inspired Swiss Kits - professional yet informal orientation courses packed with useful information about your local area, Switzerland and Swiss etiquette. Our aim is to kit you out with the tools you need to enjoy and relish all Switzerland has to offer.

During the courses you will receive lots of essential, fascinating and practical information about day-to-day life in Switzerland plus a little history, geography and even some Swiss-German. You will meet like-minded people and start to build a network of friends and contacts – many of whom are in a very similar situation to yours. By the end of the course you will have your own Swiss Kits folder to refer to again and again – and of course to add to as you continue to discover Switzerland.
